Perfection? Happiness? What do these two terms mean? Many people are under the impression that their lives need to be “perfect” in order to be happy. WE live in a world where people are constantly striving by any means to reach perfection, be it physically, emotionally, in their relationships or just comparing their selves to other people’s “perfect lives” and trying to achieve that same level of happiness. The truth is they do this while not realizing that those people living their “perfect” lives may be fighting their own battles.
Maybe if we started to accept and embrace our imperfections we would be much happier.
Maybe if we started to accept and embrace our imperfections we would be much happier.
To be beautiful means to be yourself and to be happy means to love yourself with all your flaws and imperfections simply because these are the things that make us unique. Maybe if we learnt to embrace individuality as well as others the world will be a much better place to live in.

I am strong because... I have learnt to overcome my struggles.
I am wise because... I have learnt from my mistakes and the experiences in my life.
I am beautiful because... I don't pretend to be anything but myself.
I am happy because... of the sadness I've known.
I am blessed because... I have something that not even money can buy. Friends that are family.. and family that are friends..

I am strong because... God is my strength and fortress
I am wise because... I have learnt to have a teachable spirit
I am beautiful because... I am wonderfully and fearfully made by my creator. I have learnt to embrace my flaws because without them, I am no longer Bongeka.
I am happy because... I have been given life in abundance to pursue my passion and purpose in life.
I am blessed because... I am Child of God, destined for greatness and born to prosper.

As I began to love myself... I freed myself of anything that is no good for my health – food, people, things, situations, and everything that drew me down and away from myself. At first I called this attitude a healthy egoism. Today I know it is “LOVE OF ONESELF”.

We cry, we fail, we struggle and we feel pain. But hey, we're all human, and we all make mistakes. Let us learn to love and accept ourselves just the way we are in order to find inner peace.
